Amazon Kindle 3G Vs Kindle Wifi Only

Amazon’s Kindle 3 has caught everyone’s attention. There 2 models available: the Kindle 3G (3G + WiFi) and the Kindle WiFi only.

What is the difference between Kindle 3G and WiFi?

The 3 G version comes with two color options: graphite and white. The WiFi is available in Graphite only. Also, the 3G gives you mobile connectivity anywhere you are and access in over 100 countries. The WiFi allows access to the web or the Kindle store, only when you are near a WiFi hotspot.

However, the WiFi has a major advantage: its price. It available at the ridiculously low price of $139, which means that it’s 50 dollars cheaper than the 3G and it offers almost the same features.

Some of the common features of the Kindle 3G and the WiFi:

* PDF files can be viewed at their actual size or with a zoom of 150%, 200% and 300%. You can also simply adjust the file to the width of the screen. The contrast can also be adjusted for a better reading experience.
* You have the ability to change the font size and type, the length of the lines and the characters, but you can not use your own font types unless you unlock the device.
* You can set bookmarks, highlights, keep notes, and search the text (the search function is not possible in PDFs, because they are scanned as images). There are two built-in dictionaries for American and British English.
* Instead of a page number, there are locations. You can browse through the table of contents, the transition to location, the return to previous location and of course, you can use the buttons for the next and previous page that are on both sides of the device.
* You can use the free applications provided by Amazon to read the e-books at your PC, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android mobile and tablet PC by syncing the bookmarks and notes to your Kindle (it requires Internet connection).
* Kindle is available in graphite and white, with the same technical characteristics.
* The warranty is for 1 year. The extended warranty is for 2 years, but only applies to the United States.

Accessories:
With this device you get the USB cable needed to connect to a computer, but you do not get any case for the device. However, it is not very safe to carry the equipment unprotected. Another disadvantage is that the charger that comes with the device does not support the voltage in Europe. So, if you live in Europe you will have to charge the device only through your computer (fortunately the battery lasts for about a month). You can also choose to buy an adapter for European sockets from Amazon at a very low cost.

Buy Cheap Laser Toner For Your Printer

The laser toner cartridge is a part of the laser printer which provides the printer with the ink required to print text and images on the paper. The toner cartridges are a little more expensive when compared to the ink cartridge used in inkjet printer. There are many advantages in using a laser toner cartridge as compared to the ink cartridges. To start with, they are much quicker and can work on all types of papers. They are expensive but the output percentage and quality prints make it a value for money deal.

There are two types of laser toner cartridges available, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or the compatible cartridge. The OEM variety can prove to be a very expensive where as the compatible cartridges are cheap as they are of generic brand. The compatible cartridges get along easily with more than one type of printer but the print quality might not be satisfactory.

If you are looking ahead to buy a cheap laser toner cartridge, all options should be considered as the original cartridges are very expensive. You can make your purchases online or from any office supply store. But if you really want to cut down your printing expenses you can try the eco-toners. They are not only cheaper than the OEM but also work as good as a new one.

These cheap laser toners are manufactured by companies who buy the branded disposed cartridges with no visual or electrical defects. The cartridges go thru a very stringent inspection process. After the inspection they are cleaned and refilled with high quality toners. The cartridges once refilled go through a final testing process. Once the testing is done they are sealed and sold in the market as eco-toners. In this way the recycling process makes it possible for us to buy good quality cheap laser toners.

Moreover by buying the recycled cartridges you can do a bit for the environment. The cartridges are made of plastic and once the cartridges are empty we are left with no option rather than dumping them. Statistics have shown that the eco-toner cartridges or the remanufactured cartridges can avoid around 570,000 tons of plastic disposals and can also save almost up to 1080 million liters of oil each year. Instead of dumping the used cartridges we can sell them to companies which can recycle them and in return we can avail the
benefits of cheap laser toner cartridges.

Where Should I Go to Buy Printer Ink Cartridges?

Printer ink cartridges are a commodity that nearly all businesses and now nearly all households utilise on a regular basis, but where is the best place to buy them.

There are basically 2 options that you have when choosing where to buy printer cartridges, either

1. a local store or
2. online.

Lets look at both of these options a little more deeply.

Local Stores – a general store

It is possible to buy cartridges from an all purpose store or even a supermarket. This is very convenient as you can easily purchase ink cartridges for most well known printers, and just add it to your weekly shopping list when needed. The downside to buying at an all purpose store is that the range will probably be limited to genuine cartridges and the supermarket may not stock compatible or refilled cartridges for your printer. Also whilst the staff are sure to friendly and helpful, they will not have sufficient knowledge on printer ink cartridges and will be unable to provide you with expert advice.

Local Stores – a specialist store

There are a also number of specialist stores that resell a variety of printer ink cartridges. Generally the store owner will be an expert in printer cartridges and will be able to provide you with expert information on the qualities and variances of the available printer cartridges available for your printer. The store owner should be able to advise you of any compatible cartridges that can be used, the quality of the various compatible cartridges and may even suggest using refilled cartridges or help you with a “do it yourself” ink refill kit. The store owner will also be able to give you feedback that other customers have given, allowing you to make a much more educated decision as to which printer cartridges suit your particular printer and which will give you the best value for money.

Online

There are a huge number of online stores that sell printer ink cartridges. Some online stores specialise in genuine cartridges only, some in compatible cartridges only and some in refilled ink cartridges only. There are also some that offer all of the types of printer ink cartridges that you could use for your printer. When purchasing online, they may be shipping costs involved so you need to check that carefully before purchasing. Commonly, though, shipping costs are modest and sometimes free for orders over a certain value. The competitive nature and convenience of online shopping has meant that web sites owners have spent a lot of effort in creating online shops that are incredibly easy to use so that the mums and dads of the world can follow an “easy to follow” website to find appropriate cartridges for their particular printer and make the purchasing very easy and secure. A lot of online shops also offer 24/7 support and frequently asked questions that will cover most of your concerns.

Guide to Buy a Color Printer

Computer and printer have been a part of technology that cannot be separated from human’s life. That is why you deserve to get the best color printer that gives you satisfaction.

When you decide to buy a color printer, you will need to make sure whether you really need this device or not. In this case, if your job or activity requires you to only print black and white documents, purchasing a color printer is not a wise decision. On the other hand, you are recommended to purchase such device if your job deals with graphics or photographs.

Later, you will need to choose one from two types available: an inkjet printer or a laser printer. To get brilliant printing results, a laser printer is a recommended option, but consequently, it costs you much money as it is considered as the most expensive option. In contrary, an inkjet printer comes in more affordable price, with printing quality you can count on.

Some people consider speed when choosing a color printer. In this case, you are not “allowed” to choose lower-end inkjet printer. The midrange ones are worth buying since they are able to print text at 14-17 pages per minute and a page of graphics only in several minutes! A better speed is offered by the laser color printers as they can print color text at 26 pages per minute.

For the quality, actually both types of printers can provide professional quality photos. However, you should know that not all inkjet types are capable of doing this. You should prepare a bigger budget to buy a high-end one, as there are some which are specially designed to produce top quality photos.

Basically, printing quality depends on the resolution, so you should be well-informed about how many dots per inch (dpi) that a printer is capable of. You will know that the higher the resolution, the higher the image quality. The standard resolution is 600×600 dpi, which is more than adequate for most printing although the results you see are not satisfying enough in photos. You better choose a printer that has a range of resolutions, so you can arrange the resolution based on your printing jobs.

Kitchen Cleaning Tips

These kitchen cleaning tips are great to use for a checklist and they can be broken down into weekly, monthly or bi-annual cleaning tasks. These tasks can be used for the spring clean and to keep the kitchen clean during the rest of the year pick out those that need to be done regularly.

It is important that kitchens are kept clean because it is here that we prepare our food and drinks. The unfortunate part is that horrible bacteria also likes to grow in our kitchens if they are not kept clean and tidy.

When a kitchen is kept tidy, with as many appliances and food storage containers as possible put away in cupboards, the task of cleaning is so much easier. There is nothing worse than looking at a kitchen that needs cleaning and all you can see is clutter. The sight is just so off-putting. Keeping the kitchen clutter free will make any task in the kitchen so much easier. Even cooking will be easier when there is more room to spread out with your ingredients.

Before starting your cleaning do make sure that you have all the right cleaning equipment and products to get the job done in one go.

I use the following as a minimum list: a soft cloth, a window washer, a sponge, a bowl, a scraper (if the oven has had a bad spill), a dry towel, white distilled vinegar, some vanilla, a container of baking soda, plus my floor cleaning equipment.

Here is a list for spring cleaning:

1. Remove curtains and clean. I actually wash the curtains after I have cleaned the room then I can hang them as soon as they are dry.
2. Clean around window ledges ready for a window clean later on.
3. Go through the cupboards and wipe them out, washing any plates or pots that you think need a clean. If you find anything that needs a wash it is probably because it has not been used for a long time. Consider getting rid of it, because you might be cleaning it again in six months’ time.
4. Clean with a degreaser on top of any cupboards and cabinets as fatty grime collects here and often gets missed in regular cleaning.
5. Spray the oven for cleaning later on. Do check instructions for your particular type of oven.
6. Empty fridge and wipe out with warm soapy water, rinse with vanilla essence to freshen and remove odors.
7. Clean fan filters with hot soapy water unless instructions suggest a different method.
8. Go back to oven and clean out. Clean stove top and remove any parts that can be removed and wash in hot soapy water.
9. Clean all the kitchen walls with particular attention to the splashback.
10. Clean benchtops by giving them a good scrub, especially around the edges and any joins.

If you like to use an organic cleaner, I would suggest you use a 50/50 mix of water and white distilled vinegar as this works a treat. (This mix also works on the stainless steel.) If you have stubborn areas of grime use a wet cloth dabbed into baking soda.

It's Time to Start Talking About Home Schooling

In a day and age when a good education is more important than ever, parents want their children to attend the best schools possible. If a private institution is out of the question, the highest-rated public school is the next best thing, but most people rarely talk about home schooling.

I’ve worked most of my life as a freelance writer and have had the opportunity to get to know many students that are home schooled and who have gone on to achieve great things in life. When I speak to their parents about home schooling, they tell me that they opted for that route for a number of reasons.

The first and most important is the curriculum. There are many well-respected home school courses of study available that provide as much or more education than many public schools do, and the classes students take are always available. In other words, they don’t have to worry about a course being filled up or canceled for lack of interest.

Another big boon I hear about home schooling is the lack of social problems students encounter. One lady told me her daughter was being bullied to the point that she felt obligated to remove her from school and have her home schooled, and said that now her daughter is flourishing.

There is definitely a trade-off in the sense that that there are not as many opportunities to interact with peers and develop the same level of social maturity as students who attend private and public schools do, but even that is changing.

I wrote a story a few years ago about a basketball team comprised entirely of players that were part of a home school association. They practiced, played games and traveled together with a group of like-minded young people in which no one is picked on or made to feel isolated.

There are other social activities that parents of home-schooled students can join that will allow their children to interact with their peers.

A good friend of mine recently told me that her son was facing some difficulties in the school to which he had just transferred and was practically begging her to be home schooled. She told me that she did not want to even talk about home schooling, because she, like so many others, feared her child wouldn’t receive the same level of education or social development that he would in a traditional school.

I don’t think that home school is necessarily for everyone, but I think that there are benefits, and I think if a parent feels that his or her child may do better in such an environment, it is important to at least talk about home schooling as a possible alternative.

Jobs For Kids To Do At Home

As your children go from preschool to school age, their urge to ‘help’ is going to be stronger than ever. They are going to find just about anything you ask them to do exciting. Enjoy this while it lasts, as it won’t last much longer. They want to help, so give them something to do. Even after they stop wanting to help, they should be doing chores to contribute to the well being of the family. There are some jobs for kids that they can do easily to get them started. Later on, more complicated chores can then be assigned.

Some early jobs for kids, even kids as young as five, can be simple things that take just a few minutes but that will give them a sense of accomplishment. Anything longer than five minutes will be too much for them. Ask the to assist you with the laundry. They can carry clothes from the washer to the dryer, or the other way around. Just make sure they can handle what you hand them. They can also help you collect dirty clothes or do some simple folding jobs. They can usually start well with wash clothes and other items that just take a few simple folds to complete.

Kids at five, six, and seven can help set the table before a meal and can help clean up when everyone is done eating. They are not too young to learn to clean off their own plate and rinse things off. You may not want them to put things in the dishwasher just yet, but if you think they can handle it, that is something they can do as well. Children of this age can also sweep some floors for jobs for kids, but you may have to watch them carefully and you may have to redo it when they are not looking.

As they age past seven and eight, you can add some more jobs for kids to what you want or expect them to do. They can do a better job with sweeping, and can even learn to mop. Give them small areas so they can be satisfied with a good well done. They can do more with the laundry, and they can also learn to dust some areas of the house. At this age, they can learn some simple cooking skills, but they are still too young to cook on their own. See how they handle what you give them and ideas for new things for them to try will come to you as you see them grow.

Jobs for kids are going to be fun for them, but not forever. Soon enough they are going to be grunting and groaning about doing chores and telling you that they need to get an allowance. Remind them that you do these things without an allowance all the time and they can do the same for the good of the family. However, they can earn an allowance by doing more than you require from them. What those things are can be up to you. Chores won’t be fun forever, but they certainly help you out and give them good values for the future.
